The journey begins...Star's interest in the art of magic began when he was just 7 years old. By the time he was 9, he was performing for kid's birthday parties in his neighborhood. He discovered Haines House of Magic in the back of a Spiderman comic book, and began ordering magic tricks and apparatus. He also discovered a book on magic in the local library, and found that magic was not just about the 'trick', but more about the presentation. He also discovered that you could create magic without a lot of props! This ultimately led him to becoming the Close-up specialist he is today.

His professional career began while attending the University of Oklahoma. It was during this period that Star realized magic's unique ability to illustrate the concepts and ideas presented in his M.A.G.I.C. Program. Whether performing for children or adults, his gentle reminder that "things aren't always as they seem" and "we can do almost anything we put our minds to" are uniquely illustrated in his Magic

Born the son of a minister, young Eric (Star) was raised with a strong sense of family values, moral character and the importance of believing in himself and looking for the good in others. He took up the piano when he was 9, and always felt that magic and music went 'hand in hand' (pun intended) He also plays the 6 & 12 string guitars. In junior high, he got into Karate and lettered in Gymnastics in high school.

While attending Oklahoma University, Star became a member (for two seasons) of the Sooner Football Tumbling Squad. At the same time, he began performing close-up magic tableside at a little club called Bogart's

In 1982, Star left college to pursue his career as a full time professional Magician, and moved to Oklahoma City, where he flourished for 3 years before making the decision to travel and expand his magic career.

In 1985, he moved to Crested Butte, Colorado, where he met and married the love of his life, Judi Savoy. They took one name, "Star" to represent their shared belief that in marriage, the "two shall be one". They have remained "Partners in time" happily since.

In 1993 Star moved to Laughlin, NV, where he got his first 'casino' experience, performing at Harrah's in the capacity of strolling 'house' magician until 1995 when they moved to Las Vegas. (see "Appearances")

What magicians we all are,
turning darkness into light,
transforming invisible atoms
into the dazzling theater of the world,
pulling objects, (people as well as rabbits)
out of secret microscopic closets,
turning winter into summer,
making a palmful of moments
disappear through time's trap door.

We learned the methods so long ago

that they're unconscious,
and we've hypnotized ourselves
into believing that we're the audience,
so I wonder where we served
our apprenticeship.
Under what master magicians did we learn to

form reality so smoothly
that we forgot to tell ourselves the secret?
